On the 13th December in the conference hall of Hotel Centrum in Kołobrzeg the sponsoring agreement between the company Troton Sp. z o.o. and Romual Koperski – the organizer of the “Expedition of the Century”, an extreme car expedition from Paris to New York, running in the most part through the inaccessible regions of Siberia. The expedition starts on the route set in 1908 by the organizers of the Great Car Race from New York to Paris. At that time it was the greatest event in the history of automotive industry and the President Roosevelt together with a crowd of 250 thousand people bid good-bye to race participants, on Time Square.
After 169 days of strenuous passage 3 teams reached Paris and Siberia was travelled along the rails of Trans-Siberian Rail.
For the 100th anniversary of these events, on the 12th January 2008 the team - Romuald Koperski and Marian Pilorz – will set out from Paris. They will drive a specially prepared vehicle Man Kat 1. Varnishing materials provided by the company Troton were used to prepare the vehicle.
