Expedition of the Century Launched

14.01.2008 12:09:00

On the hundredth anniversary of a great event in the history of motoring, which was the Great Race on the route New York - Paris, on 12 January 2008, this time from Paris to New York, a Polish and Russian motor expedition set out, and consisted of: Romuald Koperski, Marian Pilorz, Victor Makarovskiy. The goal of the expedition is to commemorate the hundred-years-old efforts and, in conditions of the Siberian winter, travel a route that was traced out, but has remained unconquered, leading through the lands of Northern Siberia to the Bering Strait. To this day, no mechanical vehicle has been able to reach that place from land.
The team lead by Romuald Koperski is being rivalled by a team from Mongolia and another team from Poland. It is worth noting that in order to appear at the start, the Mongolians had to cover a few thousand kilometers! On the next Saturday, 19 January, the brave travelling party will visit the office of Troton in Ząbrów. A photographic report and a film from the expedition's start in Paris will follow soon. Below is the planned schedule of the journey.
